In its fourth annual assessment of interest rates, financing fees, and taxes, Yellowstone County ranked as the sixth best place, preceded by Fallon County, Valley County, Gallatin County and Richland County.
Other counties that ranked in the top ten were Ravalli, Phillips, Broadwater and Cascade.
The state average for amount of mortgage that gets financed is 57.78 percent, five year borrowing costs is $76,730, property taxes are $10,926, and the annual mortgage payment is $14,489.
Yellowstone County matched the state average in terms of annual mortgage payment and financing fees. Property taxes are higher than the state average at $11,667, and in Yellowstone County loan funding is an average of 67.6 percent. Yellowstone County’s index rate was 63.37 compared to Wibaux with 70.53 and compared to Gallatin at 64.4 and Cascade at 62.38.
