On the heels of Magic City Gymnastics, India Grill, and Western Skies Real Estate declaring that they will soon open at Rimrock Mall, fast-casual pizza franchise Blaze Pizza has announced it will also be opening at the property. Locally franchised by Montana Restaurant Brands Inc., Blaze Pizza is well-known for its custom-built, artisanal pizzas.

Blaze Pizza is famous, in part, for its heat and speed. With temperatures that average a blazing 700 degrees Fahrenheit on the oven floor — and an even hotter 900 degrees Fahrenheit at its dome — the 12-inch pizza is cooked in a mere three minutes. Blaze Pizza uses fresh, made-from-scratch dough. Customers choose the healthful, artisanal ingredients they want on their pizza.

Menu items range from an array of signature pizzas including Meat Eater, Art Lover, Red Vine and White Top. Customers can also create their own, enjoy a salad and choose from a variety of beverages, including beer and wine as well as desserts.

Blaze Pizza will celebrate its grand opening in late August. The opening festivities include free pizza slices all day (one per person), and giveaways including the chance to win free pizza for a year and more.

Blaze Pizza was started by Rick and Elise Wetzel (of Wetzel’s Pretzels). The franchise has grown quickly by attracting a devoted following—as well as celebrity investors. Basketball star LeBron James has reportedly leveraged an initial $1 million investment in Blaze to a $35 million to $40 million stake in the company, according to ESPN. According to PMQ Pizza Magazine, Blaze Pizza’s revenue totaled $279 million in 2017, up 51 percent from the previous year. The company was also named the fastest-growing restaurant chain in the United States by Business Insider.

The Wetzels opened the first Blaze restaurant in Irvine, California back in 2012. They got the idea for Blaze Pizza while eating at a Chipotle. While recognizing that the national pizza map has plenty of popular franchises, the Wetzels also believed there was room for one more: a Chipotle-style fast-casual pizza chain with a more upscale approach.

Locally-owned Magic City Gymnastics has also found its new home at Rimrock Mall. While searching for a new location, owner Darcey Frewin met with Rimrock Mall, which led to leasing a new 14,075-square-foot space in the property. Securing a new location at Rimrock Mall, Frewin says, allows her growing business to “focus on equipment and coaching. Rimrock has been fantastic to work with; they want us here.” Magic City Gymnastics is the second facility of its kind in the city and Frewin says, with demand growing, their Rimrock Mall location will allow the organization to serve its new students.

Also expanding, India Grill will open its second Billings location at Rimrock Mall later this year. India Grill is known city-wide for its authentic Indian food including bhuna ghost beef, lamb tikka saagwala and their baked-to-order bread choices. This new, locally-owned restaurant will be located in the Food Court next to Jensen Jewelers and is expected to open this fall.

Western Skies Real Estate will also be moving to Rimrock Mall this summer. Known as the number-one boutique real estate firm in Southeastern Montana, Western Skies takes a personalized approach to working one-on-one with clients to fulfill all of their expectations. Founded in 2002 by Tannis Kramer, Western Skies specializes in luxury residential sales, farm and ranch properties, and commercial and retail properties. The company gives back to its community and donates proceeds from every transaction to a charity or family in need.

In addition to new tenants, the popular Paris Nails is moving next to Rue21, creating a synergy between style and fashion.
