Webb Brown who served 20 years as President/CEO of the Montana Chamber of Commerce has been presented with the SBA’s 2019 Montana Legacy Award.

The legacy award honors an individual who epitomizes leadership, mentorship and philanthropy.  Webb Brown exemplifies these characteristics.

Webb Brown is a fifth-generation Montanan and a tireless advocate for small businesses in the state.  His dedication to mentoring small business leaders, fighting for their success and advocating for a good business climate are commendable.  In a large state with a relatively small population, Webb Brown is knowledgeable about what industries each city nourishes, which industries need assistance and what the political climate might bring to them.

Webb Brown knows what is good for business.  He actively listens to owners and employees of small businesses as he travels across the state.  He has worked to increase small business exports across Montana and chaired the Montana District Export Council.

As the head of the largest business advocacy organization in the state, Webb dedicated his career to building an educated and competitive workforce, reducing barriers to business growth and advancing pro-business policies.  Webb Brown retired in December 2018, but his legacy lives on.

Webb Brown was nominated by Kim Hannon, Missoula Area Chamber of Commerce.
