Lockwood School Board selected Collaborative Design as the architectural firm to design its proposed new high school. Other firms interviewed were CTA, and A & E.
Of high concern in the decision is the ability to determine a basic design and estimate costs in time to place a bond proposal on the May 2018 ballot. Should the bond pass, Lockwood would become a k-12 school district on July 1.
If Lockwood does not pass a bond measure within two years of the November election, which established boundaries for the proposed k-12 district, or if the bond election in May fails, the proposal for a new high school cannot be raised again for five years.
