STEP Forward will hold an event at the Holiday Inn in Missoula on May 22 and 23. Addie Lordemann will be keynote speaker. She is a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer for 3M, is a Montana native and a graduate of Montana State University with a bachelor’s degree in Chemical & Biological Engineering. The STEP (Science, Technology, Engineering and Production) Ahead Awards recognizes women in manufacturing who exemplify leadership within their companies. This national honor identifies the best of the best women in the manufacturing industry, and further encourages women to mentor and support the next generation of female talent to pursue manufacturing careers. The program gives manufacturers an opportunity to raise awareness of their company and manufacturing as a whole by showcasing existing female talent and providing unique leadership opportunities to better retain and develop that talent. The 2018 Manufacturing and International Trade Day will be celebrated in Missoula on May 22, 8 am to 5 pm at the Holiday Inn. U.S. Senator Steve Daines announced the United States Under Secretary of Energy, Mark Menezes, will speak at the 2018 Montana Energy Summit. The summit, co-sponsored by the Montana Chamber Foundation, will take place in Billings on May 30-31. The Montana Energy Summit serves as an opportunity to bring the nation’s energy business leaders to Billings. The summit will highlight Montana’s growing energy sector, the jobs Montana energy will create and how to unlock Montana’s energy potential.
